InterNations Expat Insider 2021 recently conducted a survey, which sampled key indices related to things like quality of life and cost of living, across Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. And as per the survey results published, despite the COVID – 19 pandemic, Bahrain remains the best place in the GCC for expats to live and work.
The survey has ranked Bahrain highly across key indicators including quality of medical care, political stability, ease of settling in and job satisfaction. Over 80% of expats in Bahrain are happy with medical care quality, compared with 71% globally. While 84% are happy with the country’s political stability compared to 64% globally.
Also, most expats find it easy to live in Bahrain without speaking the local language, and which makes it easy for them to settle down, followed by the low cost of living which makes them financially secure in Bahrain.
More than the ranking, employment opportunities define the leasing market in Bahrain. As an expat relocates to Bahrain for employment and then leases a property. However, the attraction of Bahrain over other GCC countries is the standard of living, quality conditions and the ease of work, with everything readily available within a short distance.

Friendly atmosphere - Expats who lived here for a long time find all communities leaving in harmony and agree that Bahrain’s are usually friendly, and mingle well with expatriates.
Commute – With no heavy traffic it is easy to commute in Bahrain, an office journey usually takes not more than 30 min, a dream in any country.
Affordability – The apartment rentals are comparatively cheaper compared to other GCC markets. Where a customer gets a fully furnished apartment with state-of-the-art recreational facilities, which might cost a premium in places like Dubai.
Easy to settle in – Fully furnished apartments are a big factor, most of the buildings in Bahrain, have basic amenities like a gym, pool, sauna, & Jacuzzi. So it makes expatriates settle in easily as they need not worry about buying or carrying anything.
Food – Another major factor is the availability of food choices, Bahrain as almost restaurants representing all countries, which makes expatriates feel at home.
The above factors make Bahrain the best place for expats, to live and which is encouraging many expats to invest and continue to live here.
